ESAFE’s Annual All Staff meeting was held on September 29 and 30th at Blue Mountain Resort in Collingwood, ON. This annual event provides an opportunity for Inspectors across Ontario to come together and be part of a series of Corporate and Technical Training Seminars. It also allows for cross functional training to ensure that ESAFE inspectors are able to leverage the best in skills and knowledge that are acquired from all industry sectors.
This year’s highlights included technical seminars on various topics including the requirements for approving Class II Power Supplies, Neon Signs, Overhead Cranes, review of recent changes to the Ontario Electrical Safety Code and a comprehensive review of instruments and procedures used for product compliance testing.
ESAFE was proud to have had members of the Executive Team, David Collie (CEO) and Lesley Gallinger (CFO) present to provide corporate overviews and fiscal briefings.
The two-day event also included a fund raising silent auction which resulted in a contribution of over $3,000 to help pay for cancer care for “Danielle’s Fight”. A special thanks to Senior Inspector Sam Cocuzzi for donating all the merchandise for the auction.
The grand finale to the conference was an internal competition between Inspection Teams with many hands-on product testing challenges. Congratulations to Western Team for winning the 2016 Olympics Trophy!
The 2016 All Staff Conference was an all round success and is one example of the many initiatives that ESAFE takes on to ensure that ESAFE staff is best at providing professional and knowledgeable Electrical Product Approval services for Canada.
